An event was organised in the Consulate General of Pakistan, Milan today to mobilize humanitarian assistance for the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkiye. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistanis from various cities of Northern Italy and welfare organizations. The Consul General of Turkiye was the guest of honour at the occasion.

At the onset, Consul General Aqsa Nawaz sensitized the audience on the scale of devastation done by the earthquake, expressed solidarity with the victims and shared details of rescue and relief efforts being made by the Government of Pakistan. She appreciated the Pakistani community for helping their Turkish and Syrian brothers and sisters. She urged the community to continue such activities in this hour of need as far as possible.

Later, Pakistani organizations present at the event, made pledges and presented their donations to the Turkish Consul General. The Consul General of Turkiye, Mr. Mehmat Ozoktem, thanked the efforts of the Consulate and Pakistani community for their generous contributions in solidarity with the people of of Turkiye at this critical hour of need.

The community raised 28000 Euros for the victims of earthquake and made pledges of 4000 Euros.
